After all, the original skateboarders were surfers who attached roller-skate wheels to the bottoms of old surfboards so they could “surf” on land. Which is strange, really, because there’s an argument to be made that if it weren’t for surfing, we might not even have “streetwear” as we know it today. When we think of streetwear, we tend to think of gritty, urban centers and expensive sneakers more than West Coast surfers with sun-bleached hair.
