The resulting explosion is more than doubles the initial force. the warhead though is drasticly different, the reaction is started by an upgraded miniture 21.8 isoton photon warhead, energizing a Zero-Point initiator at the front of the torpedo, expanding the Zero-point energy film manufactured in a 0.76*1.38*0.23m chamber containing a rodinium-detellenite crystal. The internal components are similar to the photon torpedos, with a miniture warp drive, targeting sensors and a warhead. Although they were powerful weapons, even a direct hit from a quantum torpedo might not destroy solid neutronium. When a ship was destroyed with quantum torpedoes, the explosion left antimatter residue to the hull fragments. The Federation quantum torpedoes contained a plasma warhead and used casings similar in shape to photon torpedoes and photonic torpedoes.
Quantum torpedoes were used by several galactic powers including the United Federation of Planets, the Cardassian Union and in the mirror universe, the Terran Rebellion. The quantum torpedo was a tactical quantum weapon, that utilized a plasma warhead, deployed aboard starships.
